Natural Day Time Eyes

Most people would like a natural simple day time look for their eye make up, something simple thats easy to achieve and just looks naturally beautiful. So here goes a step by step guide for you to follow to get the look. Things you will need, a dusting brush, eyeshadow brushes or applicators, pressed or loose powder that is translucent or matches your foundation, three eyeshadows in complimenting shades eg; nude, light brown and chocolate brown, an eyebrow pencil with a brush that matches your eyebrow colour, clear or brown your choice and an eye liner pencil in brown or charcoal.

  • Step one – After applying your foundation make sure that you have applied some base to your eyelids followed by some powder to set it.
  • Step two – Load a dusting brush with loose or pressed powder and sweep under the eye along the top of the cheek bone, this may seem un-necessary but this will help should any sprinkles of eyeshadow fall from the eyelid you will find they lift off easy with a piece of tissue or cotton bud.
  • Step three – Load up an eyeshadow brush with your first and lightest eyeshadow, dab off excess and then sweep across the entire eye socket blending to the eyebrows and edge of the eye.
  • Step four – Get your mid tone eyeshadow and load your brush, place the brush in to the crease of the eye and sweep across the lid following the outline of the eyeball, down to the eyelashes and blend gentley but do not go up to the eyebrow. Do this as many times as you like to achieve the desired colour you feel is suitable.
  • Step five – With your final darkest shade eyeshadow, lightly load a brush and dab off the excess. Draw a line from the corner of the eye sweeping up to the centre of the eye in an arched curve following the shape of the eye socket, then do the same along the lid across the eyelashes. Then using a clean eyeshadow brush or your finger gentley blend the edges of the darkest line so that it blends into the other colours.
  • Step six – Using your eyeliner draw a fine line right across the lid and then under the eye.
  • Step seven – Now use your eyebrow pencil and lightly flick over your eyebrow hairs to gentley colour in, use the brush then to sweep through the hairs to uniform the pencil colour and tidy them up.
  • Step eight – Using your choice of mascara give your eyelashes a good coat, if you require more lashes a bigger look then allow to dry and apply a second coat of mascara.
And there you have it, eyes done!

Day Time Eyes to Night

A simple task to take your day time eye make up to night time. Things you will need: pressed or loose powder translucent or a colour that matches your foundation, eyebrow pencil that matches your eyebrow colour, black mascara, black eyeliner, and a darker shade to your trio shades for day eg; nude, pale brown, dark brown, charcoal, eyeshadow brush, dusting brush.

  • Step one – Load your eye shadow brush with the dark eyeshadow and dab off excess, then draw a line with the brush from the inside corner of the eye, along the eye lashes right out to the edge of the eye and slightly along by about 1cm, from this draw a line in an arch up to the centre of the eye socket following the shape of the eyeball.
  • Step two – Using your fingertip or a clean eyeshadow brush, blend the edges of the dark shadow to create a dark smokey edge.
  • Step three – With your eyeliner draw a line just below the dark eyeshadow line running from one corner of the eye to the other, from the outer edge of the line start with the liner again and bring a line back along under the bottom lid just beneath the eye laashes and right up to the corner of the eye.
  • Step four – Take your eyebrow pencil and pencil in your eyebrows, not too heavy so that they look drawn on but enough to give a decent frame to the eyes, again as with the day time look use the brush to go through the hairs and neaten up the brows.
  • Step five – Mascara time, load the mascara wand and give your eyelashes a good coat of black mascara, again if you want bigger, fuller more dramatic eyes allow the first coat to dry then give a second coat.
And thats it a very simple way to make a dramatic change from day to night without taking you for ever, perfect when going from the office to the party!
