The Pout

  • Again start with an application of foundation and powder to the lips.
  • You will need two lipsticks, your chosen colour and one a couple of shades slightly darker, both of which should probably be cream lipsticks to give the look the required effect.
  • With a lip liner of your chosen colour trace just outside your natural lip line, when you get to the centre of the the top lips create a slightly rounded rather than pointed tip, and the same with the bottom lip, the look is about rounded and full.
  • Remember stay with the natural lip line do not go to far out.
  • Fill in the lips with the liner.
  • With the darker of your two lipstick fill in the corners of the mouth with a lip brush top and bottom.
  • Then with a clean brush load with the lighter lipcolour and fill in the centre top and bottom of the lips carefully blending with the darker shade.
  • Finally with a clean lip brush load with lip gloss and give the lips a coat of gloss!
    Your done!

Bridal Lips Natural Glossy

The Bridal Look

  • Ensure your lips have a layer of foundation and light dusting of translucent powder to start.
  • Using a pinkish brown pencil lightly outline your natural lip line.
  • With your lip pencil fill in the lips, this will help your lip colour to last the day.
  • I would recommend using a cream lipstick here again in a pinky brown tone.
  • Load your lip brush with the cream lipstick.
  • Blot your lips with tissue
  • Apply a second coat of lip colour with your lip brush.
    The Natural Lip Look
  • Make sure that you have a clear canvas to work on, no flakes of skin.
  • Glossy is for a natural look, you do not have to cover lips with foundation and powder first.
  • Lightly line your lips with a natural liner, blending so that there is no line and using light feathering strokes.
  • Load your lip brush with your chosen natural gloss and apply one coat, and thats it!
  • If you are looking to add a hint of colour then apply a layer of matt lipstick before your gloss

Lip Liners

This is a must have in any make up bag, used correctly can change your lips and achieve amazing results, many women are scared of lip liner today due to a bad image of the thick dark lip liner with a light creamy shiny colour on the lip, this is not the case! A lip liner is essential to get perfect lips and can be used to help correct imperfections. Your liner can be used to create fuller lips, thinner lips.

  • Always remember to apply foundation and powder to your lips before application.
  • Where possible use a liner that matches your choice of lipstick or your natural lip colour unless you are wanting a definate noticeable lip line.
  • For a more natural line use a slightly blunt pencil and always use small feathering strokes.
  • Thinner lips – trace just inside your lip line with a natural lip liner that matches your lips and then fill the lips with a matt lip colour as this will help to minimise the lips as it absorbs and not reflects light.
  • Fuller lips – Trace just outside your natural lip line following the shape and making sure that the lip liner is still touching the edge of your own lip line, fill in the lip with the pencil lightly there is no need to push and coloour harshly. Then apply a lip gloss, always remember to apply a light glossy colour and avoid dark shades if you want fuller lips.
  • Natural lips – Using a neautral liner relax the move and gentley trace your lip line, then lightly fill your lips in with the same pencil, finish off with a neautral of light gloss.

Lipsticks

  • In todays beauty market there is a multitude of lipcolours to choose from, for many this is too much chioce and often frightening! It does not have to come down to skin colour more your personality and the look in general as to what colour you wear, however for natural colouring then it is important to look at skin colouring to get it right without looking ill or frightening, contrary to what many women think lip colour is not affected by your hair colouring. There are some basic rules when it comes to classics, pink toned skin is always best suited to cooler colours e.g blue reds, blue pinks. Darker skin types, Asian and Mediteranean skins are best going for orange based colours. Of all skin colours black skin has the most room for play with lip colour as dark and light colours look equally stunning on them.
  • There are also a mass of different lip finishes for different looks –
  • Shimmer lipsticks: Beautifully executed these normally have light reflective properties giving a fuller look to the lips but dont be fooled that all can wear them as their frosty colours can be very ageing, unless you look very young for your age its probably wise to give it a miss of you are over 40.
  • Lip Gloss – A lip gloss is a great way to moisturise the lips, with their super sexy and shiny appearence again great for giving a fuller lip but be warned its not long lasting and tends to be very sticky and will transfer easily!
  • Sheer Lipstick – This is an in-between for lipstick and gloss, subtle sheen and colour that does not last aslong as lipstick but does not transfer or wear off as quickly as lip gloss.
  • Lip Stains – These are very good for providing a minimal coverage with colour and the do what they say, dont be scared of these because they say stain, you wont look like a goth unless you want to, theres plenty of choice out there for colours.
  • Long lasting – Again these do what they say they do, re-application is not always necessary with the right one but these do tend to have to removed with a decent make up remover.
  • Cream Lipstick – This is your usual lipstick that we are all used to, all ages can and do wear these they are easy to apply thanks to their creamy texture and easy to remove too.
  • Matt Lipstick – Probably not the best choice for older lips as they can be quite drying so make sure you moisturise your lips, but these are long lasting, i suppose the only other draw back is that a matt lipstick on its own will make the lips appear smaller!

Lip Tips

  • A part of our face that is very important and yet most of us take them for granted and forget about treating them once in a while. Remember that your lips can dehydrate too and the skin can flake and peel, now you can readily buy an exfoliator for the lips to help with this, whatever you do, do not chew at bits of skin on your lips it will make matters worse. Remember to moisturise your lips, Vaseline is excellent for this, why not give your lips a real treat and give them a night moisturiser, intensive skin creams can work wonders on your lips at night so no need to go and buy something especially!
  • If you like to use a clear lip gloss over your lip colour make sure that you do not use the wand directly from the clear gloss, put an amount on your wrist or back of your hand then using a seperate brush apply to your lips.
  • Long lasting lip colour is something most women would like, to extend the life of your lipstick make sure that you apply base and powder to your lips before application, always make sure that you blot your lipstick after applying with tissue and then re-apply another coat, another way to get longer lastng results is to use a blunted lip liner and colour in your lips then apply a coat of your lipstick.
  • Always use a lip brush when applying lipstick, the brush is much easier to follow the lip contours and your lipstick goes further, you know that bit at the bottom you could never get to and had to throw away, with the lip brush you can get in and use the remainder.
  • If you like to use a clear lip gloss over your lip colour make sure that you do not use the wand directly from the clear gloss, put an amount on your wrist or back of your hand then using a seperate brush apply to your lips.
