Lily Beetle

A very destructive pest attacking Lilies and Fritilarias. Both the adults and their larvae damage leaves, flowers and flower buds. The larvae can be found under the leaves hidden by a black secretion wich is their own excrement. Adults when approached are very clever and drop off as a defence mechanism.
There are only a few products on the market that will work on the Lily Beetle but you need to be thorough with treatments. Remove grubs and beetles by hand whenever seen and treat with an appropriate pest control.
