Do you use peat free compost?

Opening to the public

Several years ago I purchased a property just for it’s garden which I fell in love with instantly. The garden was quite a challenge due to the fact it was on a 40 degree slope. Over a period of 3 years I worked on it area by area creating winding paths that led you up the hillside rather than terracing it in order to keep it looking natural. At the end of all my hard work I opened it to the public with the local village ‘Open Gardens’ which was very rewarding as I didnt think I had that much to offer visitors. I was amazed by a lady visitor who said I should open with the National Garden Scheme! As if anyone would pay to see my garden. I’d always thought that you had to have a big rolling garden to open for the NGS but I was wrong. They came out and assessed my garden and gave me permission to open. What a year I had last year with nearly 300 people coming from all over the country in just a week, spending hours sitting and enjoying my garden. Never again will I under estimate my garden.
