Do you use peat free compost?

Soil

Whilst it is nice to think we can grow anything we want, the type of soil that we have in our garden is what makes the choice for us. Soil structure varies throughout the country from beautiful loam to stubborn clay. There are many ways to improve your soil structure to improve drainage and texture. That said there are plants that will thrive in even clay conditions quite happily. To find out about your soil you can buy a soil testing kit from most Garden Centres which will help you establish what type of soil you have. It is far easier to garden with what you’ve got than to spend a fortune trying to change it into something else.
